The project
Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) engaged our client to fabricate and install overland conveyor CV006, a continuation of overland conveyor CV005 at the company’s Cloudbreak operations. The $24M project took 10 months to complete, needing 1,500 tonnes of steel fabrication to build almost five kilometres of conveyor.
After 65,000 hours on site and several shuts due to cyclones and the global COVID-19 pandemic, our client successfully completed the project on time. Southern Steel WA played a big part in that success.
